READ THE ENTRY, NOT THE SUMMARY

Three Contradictions Worth Ten Seconds Each

Search results are assembled, not written. Two or three sources get stitched into one entry, and where they disagree the seams show. Those seams are the most reliable thing on the page, because nobody can style them away.

THE CITY DOESN’T MATCH THE ADDRESS

One name at the top, a street address underneath in a different part of the state. When those two disagree, no human checked the entry, and everything else in it was assembled the same way.

THE SAME COMPANY APPEARS MORE THAN ONCE

Two listings in nearby towns, each with its own local phone number, is one operation with two front doors rather than two laboratories. Search either street address on its own and see which business actually occupies it.

THE CREDENTIAL HAS NO NUMBER

“ISO-certified” without a class is not a credential; ISO 14644-1 runs 1 to 9 and the number is the whole meaning. Ours is ISO Class 4 under ISO 14644-1:2015, and the certificate names the testing firm, the class, the date and the technician who signed it. Ask for that document from anyone you’re considering, including us.

THREE CHECKS, UNDER TWO MINUTES

What a Listing Can’t Fake

All three work on us as well as on anyone else. Run them before you hand a drive to anybody.

Read the location line, then the street address beneath it. Where they name different parts of the state, the entry was generated rather than written, and nothing in it was verified by a person.

Our answer: King of Prussia, and the address on every page we publish says the same

Ask it plainly, and ask who opens it. A single laboratory answers with one address and one name. If the answer is a partner facility, a network, or somewhere the person on the phone can’t name, the drive is leaving the county — and each hand-off adds transit, risk, time and a margin.

Our answer: Our own Montgomery County laboratory

ISO 14644-1 runs 1 to 9, lower is cleaner, each step about ten times. “ISO-certified” with no number tells you nothing — Class 9 is roughly an ordinary office, and “Class 100” comes from a standard withdrawn in 2001.

Our answer: ISO Class 4 under ISO 14644-1:2015, certificate viewable now

WHAT WE RECOVER

PLANTS, TRADES AND SCHUYKILL VALLEY HOUSEHOLDS

Hard Drive Recovery Hard Drive Recovery

Hard Drive Recovery

Hard drives that are clicking, seized and beeping from a drop; head crashes, firmware faults and bad sectors caused from media damage. Weak or faulty head assemblies replaced with precision-matched donor parts inside our certified clean room.

SSD & NVMe Recovery SSD & NVMe Recovery

SSD & NVMe Recovery

These devices degrade while in use and develop bad sectors , firmware corruption and some times require NAND-level recovery on solid-state drives that are no longer recognized. Degraded NVMe drives require specialized hardware, not a software license.

RAID, NAS & Servers RAID, NAS & Servers

RAID, NAS & Servers

Failed rebuilds, simultaneous drive failures and degraded arrays in small offices and practices. Drives bought together fail together — power down and call before anyone attempts a rebuild.

PLANT & PRODUCTION SYSTEMS PLANT & PRODUCTION SYSTEMS

PLANT & PRODUCTION SYSTEMS

Machine controllers, production and inspection records, and the back-office server running a small manufacturer along the 422 corridor. Say if production is stopped and that case goes to the front of the bench.

Apple & Mac Devices Apple & Mac Devices

Apple & Mac Devices

Macs and MacBooks with a removable SSD or hard drive, Fusion Drives, iMacs, and the MacBook models that carry Apple’s data-recovery (“lifeboat”) connector. Also Airport Time Capsule and LaCie external drives. We don’t perform board repairs on current MacBooks with soldered storage — we’ll tell you that on the first call rather than after we have your machine.

OLD DRIVES & OBSOLETE FORMATS OLD DRIVES & OBSOLETE FORMATS

OLD DRIVES & OBSOLETE FORMATS

IDE and PATA, SCSI, SAS, old laptop drives and enclosures whose connector no longer exists on any modern machine. Don’t test an old drive to see if it works — it may spin up once, and that once should be a controlled image.

THIRTY MINUTES, SAME COUNTY

Your Drive Doesn’t Need to Leave Montgomery County

Pottstown sits at the western end of the same county we’re in. Thirty minutes down 422, and the laboratory that opens your drive is a Montgomery County facility — so the honest answer to “where does my data go” is a building you could drive past, in the county you live in.

That matters beyond convenience for the businesses along this corridor. Manufacturers, medical and dental practices, contractors and firms holding regulated records all have to be able to say where a drive went and who handled it. We keep a documented chain of custody from intake to return, sign NDAs on request, execute a Business Associate Agreement where health data is involved, and securely erase recovered data two weeks after completion unless you arrange otherwise in writing.

And there is no partner facility anywhere in that process. If your procurement needs the paperwork —  ask on the first call and it comes as one packet rather than a piece at a time.

HOW THE PROCESS WORKS

LOCAL, SECURE & FAST

01

CALL FIRST

Call first to discuss your case and schedule your appointment, then drive about thirty minutes up the Blue Route to our King of Prussia office and hand the drive to the engineer.

02

Thorough Diagnostic

We identify exactly what failed and what’s involved in the recovery attempt. No third-party queue and no guessing — and we call you with the answer along with the probability of success moving forward with the attempt.

03

Transparent Quote

Receive a phone call within 24 hours, or faster if expedited, with a firm quote and details about the work involved in your recovery attempt before any work starts. No charge beyond the diagnostic if we can’t recover it.

04

Recovery Performed

We reverse engineer and repair the drive itself — failed heads, seized motors, corrupted firmware — until it can be read again using state-of-the-art tools like the PC-3000 and safely extract the targeted data onto a good drive – inside a clean room independently certified to ISO Class 4.

05

Verify & Return

Review the recovered data in person at our King of Prussia office before making payment. In most cases we can separate any damaged files for you, so you know exactly what you are paying for. Collect at our King of Prussia office, or we return it to you securely while keeping a copy for 2 weeks.

NO BALLOONED QUOTES

WHAT CERTIFIED LABORATORY DATA RECOVERY COSTS

$106

Diagnostic · Per Drive · Tax Included

Applied toward a successful recovery. Tells you what failed, odds of success – if the recovery attempt is feasible, and what it will cost, before you commit to anything.

$400+

Typical Single-Drive Recovery

Depends on whether the failure is logical, electronic or mechanical and how much time is involved in the work. Clean room work with donor parts sits higher. You get a phone call with a firm quote first.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

POTTSTOWN DATA RECOVERY FAQ

It means the listing and the address were assembled from different sources, and neither was checked. A search result that names one city while printing a street address in another has told you it isn’t describing a place anybody visits. National listings are generated in bulk. But it is a straightforward signal about how much attention went into the entry, and it takes ten seconds to spot. Read the city, read the address underneath, and see whether they agree.

Yes, and it’s the most useful line on the page. A physically failed drive needs a clean room, and no repair counter has a certified one — so when a shop advertises recovery, the drive usually goes to a laboratory somewhere else, or they use consumer software on the damaged devices. The part worth knowing before you agree to lose the chain of custody is which laboratory, how many companies handle the drive on the way, and what the price becomes once somebody else sets it. Ask where the drive physically goes and who opens it. A single laboratory answers with one address and one name.

Ask for the number, because the words alone mean nothing. ISO 14644-1 defines nine classes, 1 to 9, and lower is cleaner — each step permits roughly ten times more airborne particles than the one below. ISO Class 9 is about as clean as an ordinary office; ISO 5 is roughly ten times dirtier than ISO Class 4; and “Class 100” comes from a US federal standard withdrawn in 2001, corresponding to about ISO 5. Our clean room equipment was independently certified to ISO Class 4 under ISO 14644-1:2015 by an outside testing firm and signed by a NEBB-certified technician.

Unplug it and leave it alone. Clicking usually means the heads can’t read the servo data written on the platter — often a head failure rather than platter damage, which is frequently recoverable, but only if the drive stops now. Every additional power-up risks the heads touching the recording surface, and when that happens magnetic material comes off the platter and does not come back. Don’t run recovery software on a physically failing drive: it forces hours of continuous reading across bad sectors, with no head map and no way to work around the damage, on a drive that may have minutes left.

About thirty minutes down 422, in the same county, and there’s parking at our end. Client drop-off and pickup are at our corporate office, 630 Freedom Business Center Drive, Floor 3, King of Prussia — you hand the drive to the engineer who will do the work and collect it from the same person. The recovery laboratory itself is a secured Montgomery County facility we no longer open to visitors, because we handle medical records and legal evidence and restricted access is part of the chain of custody.

Every case starts with a $106 diagnostic per drive, tax included, applied toward a successful recovery. You receive a firm quote before any work begins, and there’s no charge beyond the diagnostic if the data can’t be recovered. Most single-drive physical recoveries fall in the $400 and up range; RAID and server work is quoted per case after diagnosis. We publish these figures because you can’t compare what isn’t published. Active military, veterans and students receive a permanent 20% discount with valid ID.
