FOUR CHECKS BEFORE YOU HAND IT OVER

What a Listing Can’t Fake

Each one has a document, an address or a name behind it. Ask them of anyone you’re considering, including us.

A laboratory has one place and it looks the same everywhere. Where a listing’s location field and its street address name different towns — or different states — the company behind it is somewhere other than where you’d be driving. Put the street address into Street View and read the sign over the door.

Ours: 630 Freedom Business Center Drive, Floor 3, King of Prussia — the same address everywhere we appear

You should get a name and one building. “We partner with…” means the counter and the laboratory are two different companies, with a hand-off, a courier and a margin between them. If the person on the phone can’t name the facility, your drive is going somewhere neither of you can describe.

Our answer: Don Anderson, in our own Montgomery County laboratory, with no second company

ISO 14644-1 runs 1 to 9, lower is cleaner, each step about ten times. “ISO-certified” with no number tells you nothing — Class 9 is roughly an ordinary office, and “Class 100” comes from a standard withdrawn in 2001. Ask for the document, not the adjective.

Our answer: ISO Class 4 under ISO 14644-1:2015, certificate viewable now

A company that publishes its diagnostic and its typical range has already answered you. One that can’t quote anything until the drive is in their building has arranged the conversation so that the price arrives when your only copy is somewhere else.

Our answer: $106 diagnostic applied to the total cost, and a firm quote before any work starts

EXPERIENCE THE DIFFERENCE

ONE COMPANY, OR A COUNTER AND A PARTNER

FOR THE OFFICE PARKS

Procurement Is Usually What Costs You the Week

In a corporate market the recovery is rarely the slow part. The slow part is getting a new vendor approved while a drive sits in a drawer. A security questionnaire, a certificate of insurance, an NDA, a data handling policy, sometimes a W-9 — each arriving days apart because nobody asked for them all at once.

So say on the first call that a vendor review is coming and we’ll send the whole packet up front: certifications, insurance details, our data handling and retention policy, an NDA ready to sign, and a Business Associate Agreement where health data is involved. Recovered data is securely erased two weeks after completion unless you arrange otherwise in writing, and the chain of custody is documented from intake to return.

One more thing that matters to a compliance reviewer more than it does to anyone else: there is no partner facility in our process. Whatever you hand us is worked on by us, in one building, by one named engineer. That is a much shorter answer to “where did our data go” than the alternative, and it’s the answer you’ll be asked for if anything ever goes wrong.

WHAT WE RECOVER

CORPORATE SYSTEMS AND EVERYTHING ELSE

Hard Drive Recovery Hard Drive Recovery

Hard Drive Recovery

Hard drives that are clicking, seized and beeping from a drop; head crashes, firmware faults and bad sectors caused from media damage. Weak or faulty head assemblies replaced with precision-matched donor parts inside our certified clean room.

SSD & NVMe Recovery SSD & NVMe Recovery

SSD & NVMe Recovery

These devices degrade while in use and develop bad sectors , firmware corruption and some times require NAND-level recovery on solid-state drives that are no longer recognized. Degraded NVMe drives require specialized hardware, not a software license.

RAID, NAS & Servers RAID, NAS & Servers

RAID, NAS & Servers

Failed rebuilds, simultaneous drive failures, degraded arrays and virtual machines for the businesses along Sentry Parkway, Union Meeting and Township Line. Power down and call before anyone attempts a rebuild.

ENCRYPTED & REGULATED MEDIA

Encrypted volumes (w/key) and records held under retention obligations. NDA before work begins, BAA where health data is involved, documented chain of custody, and secure erasure two weeks after completion.

Apple & Mac Devices Apple & Mac Devices

Apple & Mac Devices

Macs and MacBooks with a removable SSD or hard drive, Fusion Drives, iMacs, and the MacBook models that carry Apple’s data-recovery (“lifeboat”) connector. Also Airport Time Capsule and LaCie external drives. We don’t perform board repairs on current MacBooks with soldered storage — we’ll tell you that on the first call rather than after we have your machine.

SECOND OPINIONS & FORENSICS SECOND OPINIONS & FORENSICS

SECOND OPINIONS & FORENSICS

Cases another company has called unrecoverable or quoted at four figures, write-block imaging, court-ready reports and expert testimony. Tell us exactly what was attempted and what you were quoted.  Bring your receipts and any proof of correspondence.

HOW THE PROCESS WORKS

LOCAL, SECURE & FAST

01

CALL FIRST

Call first to discuss your case and schedule your appointment, then drive about 20 minutes to our King of Prussia office and hand the drive to the engineer.

02

Thorough Diagnostic

We identify exactly what failed and what’s involved in the recovery attempt. No third-party queue and no guessing — and we call you with the answer along with the probability of success moving forward with the attempt.

03

Transparent Quote

Receive a phone call within 24 hours, or faster if expedited, with a firm quote and details about the work involved in your recovery attempt before any work starts. No charge beyond the diagnostic if we can’t recover it.

04

Recovery Performed

We reverse engineer and repair the drive itself — failed heads, seized motors, corrupted firmware — until it can be read again using state-of-the-art tools like the PC-3000 and safely extract the targeted data onto a good drive – inside a clean room independently certified to ISO Class 4.

05

Verify & Return

Review the recovered data in person at our King of Prussia office before making payment. In most cases we can separate any damaged files for you, so you know exactly what you are paying for. Collect at our King of Prussia office, or we return it to you securely while keeping a copy for 2 weeks.

NO BALLOONED QUOTES

WHAT CERTIFIED LABORATORY DATA RECOVERY COSTS

$106

Diagnostic · Per Drive · Tax Included

Applied toward a successful recovery. Tells you what failed, odds of success – if the recovery attempt is feasible, and what it will cost, before you commit to anything.

$400+

Typical Single-Drive Recovery

Depends on whether the failure is logical, electronic or mechanical and how much time is involved in the work. Clean room work with donor parts sits higher. You get a phone call with a firm quote first.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

BLUE BELL DATA RECOVERY FAQ

It means the listing and the address are describing different things, and it’s worth noticing before you drive anywhere. A single laboratory has one location, and that location appears the same way everywhere it’s published. Where a listing’s own location field names one place and its address line names another, you’re usually looking at a national operation with a local drop-off front attached — the address takes drives in, and the company behind the listing is somewhere else entirely. Put the street address into Street View and read the sign over the door before you commit to anything.

It isn’t dishonest — it’s the most useful sentence in that listing, and most people skim past it. It means the place you hand your drive to is not the place that opens it. Your drive is tampered with at a counter, boxed, and sent to a separate company which exposes it to many risks. That adds transit, adds hand-offs, breaks the chain of custody at the first one, and adds a margin on top of the partner’s own fee. It also means the reviews you read may describe the counter service rather than the laboratory. Ask plainly: who opens the drive, and where is that building?

Ask for a number, because the letters alone mean nothing. ISO 14644-1 defines nine classes, 1 to 9, and lower is cleaner — each step permits roughly ten times more airborne particles than the one below. ISO Class 9 is about as clean as an ordinary office, and “Class 100” comes from a US federal standard withdrawn in 2001. Our clean room equipment was independently certified to ISO Class 4 under ISO 14644-1:2015 by an outside firm and signed by a NEBB-certified technician, and you can view the certificate before you commit to anything.

Yes, and it’s worth raising on the first call rather than after the drive has moved. We’ll send certifications, insurance details, our data handling policy and an NDA up front, execute a Business Associate Agreement where health data is involved, and keep a documented chain of custody from intake to return. Recovered data is securely erased two weeks after completion unless you arrange otherwise in writing. If a vendor review has to happen before a purchase order can be raised, say so and we’ll start that paperwork immediately rather than letting it become the delay.

Power it down and stop. Don’t rebuild the array, don’t initialize anything, and don’t let anyone swap a drive in to see what happens. A rebuild forces every remaining drive to work harder than it has in years, and if a second drive is already degraded — which is common, because drives bought together tend to fail together — the rebuild is what destroys the array. Say on the first call if the business is stopped and that case goes to the front of the bench.

Every case starts with a $106 diagnostic per drive, tax included, applied toward a successful recovery. You receive a firm quote before any work begins, and there’s no charge beyond the diagnostic if the data can’t be recovered. Most single-drive physical recoveries fall in the $400 and up range; RAID and server work is quoted per case after diagnosis. We publish these figures because you can’t compare what isn’t published. Active military, veterans and students receive a permanent 20% discount with valid ID.
