Why the Capital Region Should Care Where It Lands
BEFORE YOU SHIP
Three Questions, and How to Pack It
At a hundred miles, everything depends on what happens after the box leaves your hands. These cost nothing and they work on us too.
Question 1
Where does my drive physically go?
A single laboratory answers with an address. If the answer involves a “partner facility,” a “network of labs,” or anywhere the person on the phone can’t name, you’ve been told the answer indirectly — and your drive is going somewhere nobody in the conversation is accountable for.
Question 2
Who opens it, and can I speak to them?
Ask for the name of the engineer. At most companies you’ll get a case manager instead, which tells you the person doing the work is unreachable by the person paying for it. That matters most when something goes wrong, which is exactly when you’ll want to ask.
Question 3
Can I have a consultation and safe instructions if I decide to ship?
Call us and we’ll give them free, even if you send the drive elsewhere. The most common mistake is cushioning without immobilizing or added carrier damage — a drive wrapped loosely inside a box can still move, and a drop the packaging survives can move a head across a platter. It needs to be held still, not just padded and shipped with a reliable service.
WHAT WE RECOVER DATA FROM
What We Recover for Harrisburg Clients
Hard Drive Recovery
Clicking, grinding, seized and dropped drives; head crashes, firmware faults and bad sectors. Damaged head assemblies replaced with precision-matched donor parts inside our certified clean rooms.
SSD & NVMe Recovery
Controller failure, firmware corruption and degraded NAND-level recovery on solid-state drives that are no longer recognized. Degraded NVMe drives require specialized hardware, not a software license.
RAID, NAS & Server Recovery
Failed rebuilds, simultaneous drive failures, degraded arrays and virtual machines for agencies, practices and businesses across Dauphin and Cumberland counties. Power down and call before anyone rebuilds.
Encrypted & Regulated Media
Damaged bitlocker encrypted volumes (w key), HP Optane NVMe SSDs, removable media and archived storage where the chain of custody is part of the deliverable. Documented handling from intake to return, and written custody records where the record is required.
Apple & Mac Devices
MacBook SSDs, Fusion Drives and, in some cases, soldered Apple storage where the NAND is fused to the logic board. Board-level micro-soldering, certified through ACI Technologies in Philadelphia.
